Thrifty Thursday: The $1 Onion Goggles

I didn’t grow up enjoying onions but I’ve found that I do enjoy them and have been using them a lot more in our meals. We’ve been getting them every week from our farmers market so I have been trying to keep up with using them but honestly, I hate cutting onions because it is painful! Oh the burning of the eyes! Even when slicing them in the food processor, the process of peeling and prepping stinks!

I tried using regular goggles, fail. Talk about uncomfortable.

I then searched Amazon for Onion Goggles and found these babies for $20.

I mean, they are pink!! But $20? Probably not the best price for this frugal gal.

Then I remembered we had these protective goggles from Tyler’s Mad Science Party that I got for $1 at Dollar Tree. They worked like a charm! Score! So if you love onions, next time you are at the dollar store check for these in the hardware section!
