Two of my favorite foods come together in this post; pumpkin and donuts. I don’t make donuts as often as I could with my donut pans so I took out the pans and along with my fresh pumpkin puree from Thanksgiving I made these donuts. These donuts are very soft and easy to make thanks to the cheater ingredient: Cake Mix! Serve these during the fall or during the holidays for breakfast! If you don’t have fresh pumpkin puree you can use canned pumpkin. However, I highly recommend you check out my fresh pumpkin puree tutorial if you can find pie pumpkins!
Cake Mix Pumpkin Cream Cheese Donuts
Ingredients:
Donuts:
- 2 cups of fresh pumpkin
- 1 white cake mix
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup oil
- 1/4 cup water
Frosting:
- 1 package of cream cheese
- 2 cups of powdered sugar
- 2 teaspoons of cinnamon
- Allspice
Directions:
- Heat oven to 350 degrees
- Mix all donut ingredients together
- Pour mixture in donut pan
- Bake for 22 – 25 minutes
Frosting:
Mix the cinnamon, powdered sugar and cream cheese. Top the donuts with the frosting and sprinkle the all-spice on top.
These donuts can be stored for about a week but I promise they won’t make it that long! Pair these with eggnog or milk for a perfect breakfast.
