This easy tutorial shows you how you can upcycle food Containers into gift boxes!
During the holiday season I find myself looking for new creative ways to gift the goodies that we bake for others for gifts. In the past I have used baggies and food containers. Since I found a recent splurge on items that were in food containers, I decided to upcycle them into goodie containers.
These containers can be used for goodies like this Almond Roca Fudge or this Peppermint Bark. These cans are very easy to make with minimal effort!
Supplies:
- Cans from coffee, candy etc.
- Spray Paint
- Washi Tape
How To:
This can was a coffee canister from Trader Joe’s, pumpkin spice to be exact!
What I used: Rust-Oleum Gold Spray Paint

This one is the Almond Roca can. I didn’t realize that the logo was 3D so that is something you want to watch for if you cannot remove a label and paint over it.
What I used: Rust-Oleum Chalkboard Spray Paint
.
This may be my favorite can, it was created from the gingerbread coffee canister from Trader Joe’s.
