]One of the best things about the holidays are the parties with friends and family. I love getting together during this time of year and spending time with everyone. Beyond getting to spend time with friends and family the bonus to parties is the food and goodies! I usually go way above my limits and make about a dozen different treats during the holidays. Everything from cookies to fudge, if it’s sweet I am going to make it!
One of my go-to treats for the holidays is my bark recipes. These are easy to make and you can make a bark with just about anything! I always make this I always make this Peppermint Bark recipe every year but today I am mixing it up with a different kind of bark, Hot Chocolate Bark. If you have never made bark you are in luck, it’s super easy! It’s almost fool proof. I always use thisĀ Almond Bark Chocolate , it’s easy to melt and tastes great! You just have to make sure you don’t scorch it but really all you do is melt it and spread it out flat.
HOT COCOA BARK

INGREDIENTS
- 12oz Almond Bark Chocolate
- 4 Crushed Peppermint Candies
- 2 tablespoons Hot Cocoa Powder
- 1/2 cup Marshmallow Cream
DIRECTIONS
Step 1 | |
Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper. | |
Step 2 | |
Carefully melt the block of chocolate on 60 seconds in the microwave. Remove and stir continuously until it is fully melted. | |
Step 3 | |
Spread the chocolate until it is approximately 1/4 inch thick. | |
Step 4 | |
Melt the marshmallow cream in a microwave safe bowl for approximately 15 seconds. Stir until smooth. | |
Step 5 | |
With a knife, swirl in the marshmallow cream on top of the chocolate. | |
Step 6 | |
Sprinkle the candies throughout the top of the bark. | |
Step 7 | |
Finish with sprinkling of the hot cocoa on the bark. | |
Step 8 | |
Allow to cool or refrigerate to harden, then serve! |
