Blogher11 with my mom mob gals!
Today, I would be at Blogher but alas, I am not. It’s a little bitter sweet, I have been for the past two years and it’s in NYC again (and I LOVED being in NYC for the last Blogher there). Sigh. As much as I would LOVE to be back, this year I decided not to go for a few reasons. The first is, price. There is no getting around that hefty price tag of traveling thousands of miles unless there is a sponsorship. We’ve struggled financially over the past two years and I couldn’t justify a trip to NYC for Blogher. I didn’t seek a sponsor this year because I wasn’t sure I really wanted to go to Blogher this year. I felt like when I came home from these past two Bloghers, I was totally overwhelmed and lacking value. By lacking value I mean I didn’t feel like I came home with a lot. Now I did meet some great people, bloggers and PR reps and I made some awesome connections. But did I need to go to Blogher to find that?
I’m not sure. I’m sad about missing all the fun, and seeing all of the fabulous people I work with that I don’t normally get to see unless it’s at Blogher. However, I’ve planned something a little more fun for me and my family. I will be traveling this weekend with my kids to the funnest weekend of our Summer. We are making this last weekend of our Summer break SUPER FABULOUS!
But today, I am actually attending Spark and Hustle Conference with some of my best bloggy friends. I love that it’s local, low cost and it looks like it is just what I need as far as inspiration.
To all my friends at Blogher, have some fun for me! I can’t wait to hear where next year’s will be.

Last year was SO fun, but totally overwhelming. I think that the Spark & Hustle conference yesterday was the perfect way to spend the day!
