I have many obsessions and one just happens to be makeup. When we moved almost a year ago, I purged so much. Yet, I still have so much! What can I say, a girl has to look her best! I’ve never really bought expensive makeup so at least it’s not a pricey obsession for me. I tend to stick to brands you can buy in drug stores. The only makeup I have ever bought online was e.l.f. cosmetics. The first time I bought it, they were having an amazing sale so I stocked up! I was excited to find a couple years ago that e.l.f. made it into Target stores.
This makeup is amazing because it starts at……$1. I know when I first saw how low the prices were, I thought no way would this stuff work for me. I’m definitely glad I gave it a try. It has been a favorite ever since! They have everything from makeup tools & brushes to foundation and eye shadow. I went on a little splurge at e.l.f. makeup and by splurge I mean I spent $20 on a full makeup haul which consisted of 9 makeup items of cosmetics from e.l.f. True Story! I love how they have a basic line which starts only at $1 and a studio line which only starts at $3!
$6 Foundation
$3 Under Eye Concealer/Highlighter
$3 Plumping Mascara
$1 Eye Shadow Color Pallet
$1 Lip Gloss (Fairy)
$1 Gloss Mascara (clear)
$3 Pigment Eye Shadow
$1 Liquid Eye Liner
$1 All Over Cover Stick (Persimmon)
Now what I am about to show you I never thought I would share on my blog, but here I am with zero makeup on (and still a happy face might I add). I try to wear makeup everytime I leave the house unless, I am just ruining to the store or a quick errand. If I will be seeing people I know, I will always be wearing makeup! Since I am usually in bed at about midnight and up with the sun, it always looks like I am dog dead tired. I am dog dead tired but at least makeup helps me hide the obvious a little!
I’m drawn to earth tones as far as makeup goes and I love a more natural look with a little bit of pop.
Below I show you lots more of me, in e.l.f.!
I started with the eye makeup, I did a comparison here of an eye with makeup and an eye without. Please excuse the bags!
I used the pigment eye shadow as a base. I must say, when I saw that e.l.f. had a pigment eye shadow I was really excited. I have been buying pigment shadow for a few years now, it has a deeper color base and lasts a lot longer than traditional shadows. After the base I added a dark and light brown shadow. I finished my eye with the plumping mascara. I definitely love my lashes to be fuller because I always look so tired and for $3, this mascara was a winner! I will say though, I was disappointed I could not find a waterproof mascara from e.l.f. I finished the makeup look with concealing under the eyes and dabbing a little bit of the highlighter underneath the eyes.
In this first photo I am rockin the day time look with e.l.f. Flawless Finish Foundation, the eye shadows from above, Plumping mascara and hypershine lip gloss.
This next photo I am wearing my night time look with e.l.f Flawless Finish Foundation, Plumping mascara, the Shimmer Stick on the eyes and cheeks along with the hypershine lip gloss! I love the cover stick because it could easily be used for the eye shadow and a blush and it’s small enough to be kept in a purse!
I also wore the clear mascara…in my hair!
A trick I learned long ago, use clear mascara to tame fly aways on the top of the head.
Just brush it on for a more sleek look! Not a bad trick and the clear mascara was only $1!
So that’s it! Oh wait, since I’m showing you the me with no makeup, I might as well show you my outtakes that were not so fab photos, lol.
On the left we have me getting bored of taking so many photos that aren’t working out so I was just playing. On the top right, I am laughing at something Brian has said that I can’t even remember, lol. The last one is my confused look at my children 😉
Something I did notice about e.l.f. Cosmetics while I was shopping….
I love that they print on the bottom of the box that they do not animal test!
Keep Up With e.l.f.

Super cute!! I’ve always been happy with the e.l.f makeup I purchased on line, too. I didn’t know it’s now sold at Target!

Bummer that you couldn’t find the waterproof mascara at your store…I KNOW they make some. You look absolutely gorgeous!
