This week we are gearing up for Fall. We’ve gotten the decorations out for Halloween and we’re getting really excited for pumpkins, cooler weather and the spookyness that surrounds Halloween. One thing my kids can’t wait for is to see the Hotel Transylvania movie and we had a little dessert party to celebrate the release of the movie.
We went to Smart & Final prior to our party and picked up some desserts along with some party items such as forks and napkins. We even picked up a pumpkin for Fall since they were under $3!
As you can see, we’ve started putting everything up for Halloween with our party. We invited the neighbor kids over which are primarily boys and they definitely loved the idea of a dessert party. I told them to help themselves then left to get more plates and they had devoured most of the dessert!
We served First Street Pumpkin Pie and Lemon Cake from Smart & Final. Ohhhhh they were both so great. This was our first pumpkin pie of the season, well I guess of the year! The Lemon Cake bread served as a nice dessert and it went well with my coffee the next morning.
I also made some chocolate pudding and put sour gummy straws in it as worms. This dessert was easy to make in less than 5 minutes! I was happy to find the desserts from Smart & Final at such great prices. I went into another store recently to picked up baked goods and the prices were outrageous. I picked up the Pumpkin Pie for $3.49 and the Lemon Cake for $1.99. Great deal, right?!
What was really exciting about our dessert party was we actually got a free movie ticket to Hotel Transylvania! When we purchased 2 First Street bakery items at Smart & Final, we received a code for a free movie ticket!
I printed out the cute photos from the Hotel Transylvania FB page here: http://www.facebook.com/HotelT?ref=ts&fref=ts
We handed out these little boo buckets to the kids that came. They are actually made with Smart & Final soup/food containers! Find the how to post here: http://cleverpinkpirate.com/2012/09/26/halloween-boo-buckets/
The Boo Buckets were filled with candy from Smart & Final, I bought a 3.5 lb bag of Tootsie Roll Mix for $7.99.
