Easy Spring Flower Centerpiece

I’m not sure how March has come and almost gone. This weekend is Easter and I haven’t even thought about decorating. I honestly haven’t decorated since Christmas so I was trying to figure out how I could go from a cold winter feel in the living room to warm and bright with Spring just beginning. I decided to create this Easy Spring Flower Centerpiece!

 

 

I decided to mix a few of my favorite things. I spotted my very large milk glass vase collection and knew I wanted to incorporate them into my decor. Now I know what you are thinking, is that all my milk glass vases? No. And those lovely milk glass dishes? That is about half of my collection of those. What can I say, I really love the milk glass look. With my eyes on all of this white, I knew I needed color.

I actually picked this lace runner for $.50 cents at a yard sale. I love classic white lace but I decided to color it! If you haven’t colored lace before, you’re missing out on a VERY easy project! You could easily find lace tablecloths, curtains and more at the thrift stores. If you come across some white lace trim, that too can be easily dyed!

Here’s how to dye lace

Supplies:

• Lace tablecloth or runner
• Fabric Dye (I personally love this one, you can buy it on Amazon)
• 1 – 2 gallons of water (lukewarm)

Combine water and dye per directions. Add the lace to the mixture for about 45 minutes, remove and rinse clean. It’s really that easy! I hang dry it after though some material you may want to wash in a washing machine before using again.

  Now here is where I combined a few more of my favorite things.  In the vases, I decided to stop by my local grocery store and pick up a bouquet. If you live near places that sell beautiful bouquets on the corners and in local markets, take advantage of it. Where I live, the grocery stores are pretty much the only place to pick up flowers! I also added some succulents to my dishes.

For a little Easter touch, I added these faux eggs.
