We are gearing up for camping season in a few months. I like to test a few recipes before we venture out and this weekend we tried Dutch Oven S’mores. Now you may have looked at this first photo and though, yikes! However, if you have had a good campfire s’more, you know that when they burn, the marshmallows turn into gooey goodness.
And trust me, the bottom is even better with the gooey marshmallow on top.
If you are looking for a dutch oven, Amazon has quite a few.
This is one that we have for indoors:

We have a similar one to this one for camping:

Dutch Oven S’more Ingredients:
Graham Crackers
1 package of large marshmallows
1 12 ounce bag of milk chocolate chips
4-6 peanut butter cups
1+ Hershey’s chocolate bars
1/2 cup of white chocolate chips
Step 1: Layer the chocolate on the bottom of the dutch oven.
Step 2: Layer the marshmallows on top.
Cover the oven and now the cooking part can go a few different ways:
- You could put this in the fire, place coals on top and cook it for about 30 minutes.
- You could cook this in an oven, if you have some time, cook on 350 degrees for about 30 minutes or until the marshmallows are golden brown. IF you like yours like we do with blackened marshmallows so the goo inside is melted like butter, turn your double broiler on for about 5 – 10 minutes.
- To serve, scoop into mugs and enjoy with graham crackers OR scoop the mixture onto graham crackers.
