I never really noticed how much I enjoyed Disneyland food until I got older. Last week when we went to TechMunch at Disneyland my love for Disneyland food came full circle.
We had some of our favorite treats and discovered some new ones. Also, the head chef of Disneyland, Christine Weissman, made sure the conference had a FULL taste of Disneyland!
We arrived at the park on Wednesday afternoon and of course, we had to get the first treat. Disney Churros.
First stop churros. Next stop? Matterhorn.
Later that night we had a taste of Disney with a cocktail mixer where we were able to meet Christine and hear a little bit about some of the food served that evening.
During our lunch at the TechMunch conference the next day, we had a full taste of some of the finest foods from Disneyland.
Chefs from some of Disneyland’s restaurants were on hand cooking some of their signature dishes right in front of us. It was absolutely an amazing experience! Out of all the restaurants present, I hadn’t ever eaten at any of them so this was certainly a treat.
A little bit of what we ate…..
Wine Country Shrimp on Polenta Cake from Wine Country Trattoria at California Adventure
This was my favorite dish! It was a perfect pair and honestly had I more room in my tummy, I would have went back for seconds.
Four-cheese ravioli from Storyteller’s Cafe at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel
This was delightful! I loved the flavor and I’m a huge ravioli fan so this was one of my favs.
Portobello Mushroom from Disneyland’s Blue Bayou Restaurant
Lamb Chop from the famed Napa Rose at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel
I don’t often eat lamb but this was delicious, very tender.
Meatloaf Burger with Fried Pickles from Disneyland’s Carnation Cafe . The burger was fabulous but the fried pickles? Amazing! I never knew I could get fried pickles at Disneyland, I can’t wait to get them next time we go!
Citrus-cured Blue Cobia from Carthay Circle Restaurant at Disney’s California Adventure Park
Soy-marinated Tuna Salad from Disney’s PCH Grill at the Paradise Pier Hotel
I really enjoyed this salad, the ahi was prepared perfectly and the salad was delicious.
For Dessert…
This cake. This cake was amazing! All I needed was this very thin piece and I was at my limit of heaven. It is a 24 layer Chocolate Cake infused with espresso with a raspberry sauce from Disneyland Central Bakery.
Chocolate Pate from Disneyland Central Bakery
Helloooooo deliciousness! One of our fav desserts were the whoopie pies!
How fun are these Mickey Mouse Macaroons? These aren’t even in the parks yet so it was fun to get a preview of a treat that may be out there soon!
After that, I was stuffed. I mean so stuffed, it hurt. So that was the extent of my eating for the day. At least until my friends and I enjoyed some pizza from Naples in Downtown Disneyland.
The next day we went on a scavenger hunt in the parks for some delicious treats. I’ll be honest, I hadn’t tried 90% of what was on the scavenger hunt list so this was a lot of fun! We tackled just about everything on the Disneyland list:
This is a Fried Green Tomato sandwich from Hungry Bear Restaurant in Critter Country.
I’d actually never tried Apple Strudel from Disneyland. How is that even possible? Growing up German, this was always one of my favorite desserts. We found this at Village Haus in Fantasy Land. Surprisingly even though we’ve been to disney a bajillion times (okay maybe not that many), I had never eaten anywhere in Fantasy Land.
These strawberry twists were at Maurice’s Treats also in Fantasyland.
For lunch the next day, we went to Cafe Orleans inside Disneyland.
One of the best thing on our scavenger hunt was finding the Mickey Mouse Beignets, how have I never had these before? We found them at Cafe Orleans! They come in an order of 5 and they are amazing. I can’t wait to get them the next time we go back.
The Pommes Frites at Cafe Orleans were delicious! They are french fries covered in garlic and parmesan with a cajun sauce. Um yum and well worth it! If you go, split them with friends because the portion is generous!
Also at Cafe Orleans is the famous Monte Cristo sandwiches. We had the traditional and the three cheese which included melted brie. I personally loved the 3 cheese one the best!
I didn’t get to enjoy one of these and it wasn’t on the list for the scavenger hunt but how cute are these cupcakes in the Hungry Bear Restaurant in Critter Country at Disneyland?
I couldn’t do it. I couldn’t eat another bite but here is the last thing we found for the scavenger hunt, Matterhorn Macaroons! They looked delicious, I will have to try them next time we are at Disneyland.
Well that’s it! I came home full and excited to explore more foods next time I’m at Disneyland.
