I love fried pickles, I mean LOVE them! Any time we go to a restaurant that offers them, I order them. The only problem I have with them is that sometimes they are a bit on the salty side.
So I decided to play around with them at home and created a Fried Pickles Recipe. I made these in a stove skillet and I think they were a little tricky to balance out the heat so I would definitely opt for making them in a deep fryer or electric skillet if you have one.
FRIED PICKLES RECIPE

|Cook time||5 minutes|
|Total time||10 minutes|
- 1 cup Sliced Pickles
- 1/2 cup Buttermilk
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt
- 1 tablespoon Butter (melted)
- 1 teaspoon Sriacha or Cayenne Pepper
- 1/2 cup Flour
- 2 tablespoons Cornmeal
- Vegetable Oil
|Mix together melted butter, buttermilk and sriacha/cayenne pepper.|
|In a separate bowl, mix together flour, salt and cornmeal.|
|Heat the fryer with oil or skillet to 350. Depending on the size of your fryer is how much oil you will need.|
|Dip the pickles first in the buttermilk mixture, then in the flour mixture.|
|Fry each pickle for 30-45 seconds on each side. Look for them to turn a golden brown but remove before scorching.|
|Remove from oil and place on paper towels, allow to cool.|
Tip: If you like a little more salt, double the salt portion.
