Clever Tween has done really awesome this Volleyball season. You’ve already heard that from me but I can’t help myself, she has just ROCKED it! It’s really amazing, last year she started as a 6th grader who had never played it before. Then, she starts this year as co captain and her coach is confident next year even though she’ll only be in 8th grade, she’ll be on Varsity.
Something you may not know about me is I am a sideline coaching mom, encouraging her and others right from the sidelines. I really do get into it but that means I also get emotional about the game and I have secretly gotten teary eyed during a game or two. She started out this year with a lack of confidence that even her coach noticed, where she was afraid to take risks and play her best because she may not get the play. At this last game, I was the most proud not because of how well she played but how she played. She rocked it, she took every play she could and kicked butt! She played her hardest and she had that confidence in her head. I see Volleyball and her dedication to the game taking her places through high school and maybe even beyond!
The photo above is an action shot that I just loved. It’s her in action and all the team is focused on her serve. I created this for a Kleenex oval box where you can upload your favorite photos to a box of Kleenex for your home or even as a gift. I thought this photo was just perfect for a box of Kleenex for this sappy mom. It includes a great quote that I thought was very fitting for her: “If you can believe it, the mind can achieve it.” Ronnie Lott
I also chose that photo because this is how the Clever Tween prefers her photos taken, she’s slightly tired of the “Mom Paparazzi”.
