It’s that time of year, we say a sad goodbye to the teachers who have been a very big influence in our kids lives for the past year. Tyler’s teacher has been nothing short of awesome and sweet so Tyler and I wanted to put something together for a gift for her. We went to Walmart to get a few things for her. I had a concept of what I wanted to do that involved scrapbooking and photos I had taken of the kids at school earlier this year. I know Walmart has a great scrapbooking section that has items for less than a dollar but I found out recently they have Elmer’s Painters Pens for only $1.97!! That is much cheaper than they used to be!! Of course the Walmart I went to was already out of them!!
I was bummed but took a look at the boxes of Elmer’s Painters Markers and found they were basically the same price! Since they come in a coordinating colors I went to the scrapbooking section to see what I could find as far as colors.Once I selected my colors, picking my box of Painter’s Markers was easy!
Here is what we put in the scrapbooking kit for Tyler’s teacher
- Pictures from a school field trip I printed
- Elmer’s Adhesive Stamper
- X-ACTO Photo Rounder
- 3 Elmer’s Painter’s Markers
- Various scrapbook supplies from the dollar scrapbooking section of Walmart
I love that these Painters Markers go perfectly with the supplies we got.
Tyler did a cute little project and painted a paper mache apple and added candy to it.
Here is the gift we created. I used a paint tin that I found at a thrift store to store the items we bought. I then took some Painters Pens from my collection and painted polka dots on the paint tin. I then adhered ribbon to it and printed out a label on cardstock on the front. Almost everything fit!
I wanted to stick with the “painting” theme with the tin and Elmer’s Painters Markers and printed out this label and attached it to the side.
