This post is in connection with ModernMom. I was provided coffee and a Starbucks giftcard but all opinions are my own.
With Spring in full swing and Summer literally around the corner, I am finding myself in a slight panic especially since we are so busy right now. We’ve got the Clever Teen’s 8th grade promotion then we have dances, talent shows, banquets and before we know it, BAM! Here is Summer. Since I work from home, I do not have a traditional schedule where the kids will always be in one place and I am always in another. We’re usually in the same house and I hear “I’m bored and conference calls are pretty difficult”. I’d like to say I have it all together and that things will run smoothly but then, I feel like who really has it all together. So instead of that, I’ll just start mapping out some game plans.
First item on the game plan is keeping up with my coffee stash. A few months ago I actually considered giving up coffee. It’s true. However, no one wants to deal with me if I haven’t had coffee and who am I kidding, coffee and I are like one. Starbucks sent me some of their Spring Blend (http://www.starbucks.com/coffee/seasonal-favorites/spring-blend-2014) which is the perfect way for me to transition into Summer. With my Starbucks coffee, I’ll be ready to tackle every morning at work and be able to keep up with the kids.
Next thing I am doing is enrolling the kids in Summer camps. Clever Teen needs to prep for Volleyball season in high school in the Fall so she’ll be doing a few clinics and camps. Clever guy of course loves science and learning so we are signing him up for camps like Zoo camp and Robots-4-U. I’ll also be planning a few little vacations too and of course a camping trip or two.
On the path of letting go of having it all together is stocking up on frozen food and snacks. Anyone who has tweens and teens knows what I am talking about. I try to limit our processed foods but in reality during the Summer time, I can’t keep up with these hungry bellies. So chicken nuggets and frozen waffles it is.
How are you getting ready for Summer?

We’re on vacation right now but before leaving I got the rest of the summer road mapped. My wallet isn’t happy but I know two girls that will be!
