I still have many slices of wood from our Christmas tree and have been thinking of creative ways to use them. I wasn’t sure how I would use some of these smaller slices from the top portion but turning them into jewelry seemed perfect. I thought about painting images on the slices but remembered I bought that wood burner that would be perfect. I don’t have a steady hand to draw with so I did use my Cricut to make some stencils.
Wood Slice Jewelry
What you’ll need:
Wood slices (sliced this, 1 – 1.5 inches)
Drill or Crop-A-Dile
Jewelry Chain
Jump rings
Earring hooks
Creative Woodburner
How to:
- Draw or stencil shapes on the slices with a sharp pencil.
- Carefully fill in the tracing with the wood burner, lightly go over the pencil line to help blend it in.
- Drill the top of the wood slice with a hole.
- Thread the jump ring through and then the chain or earring hooks.
These are perfect for yourself or as gifts!
