Cherry Pie Cake Bars Recipe

These cherry pie cake bars are perfect for breakfast, snacks or dessert!
Ingredients
- 1.5 cups Oatmeal
- 1 1/4 cup Flour
- 1/2 cup Butter or Margarine
- 3/4 cups Brown Sugar
- 1/2 cup Unsweetened Applesauce
- 1/2 teaspoon Baking Powder
Cherry Mixture
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla
- 1 teaspoon Almond Extract
- 1/4 cup Granulated Sugar
- 1 jar Morello Cherries (from Trader Joes)
Topping
- 1/3 cup Brown Sugar
- 1/2 cup Oatmeal
- 1 tablespoon Butter
Directions

| Preheat the oven to 365 degrees | |

| Mix together the butter, brown sugar and the oatmeal until well blended. | |

| Slowly add the flour, baking powder and applesauce. | |

| In a separate bowl, mix together the cherries (drained), vanilla, granulated sugar and almond extract. | |

| Pour the cake mixture into an 8X8 pan until flat. Pour the cherry mixture on top. | |

| In another bowl, blend together the topping: Brown sugar, butter and oatmeal. Sprinkle on top of the cake. | |

| Bake in oven for approximately 55 minutes. Allow to cool then cut into bars and enjoy! | |
