It has been a while since I’ve scrapbooked. By a while I mean years. Probably about 4 years (craaaazy long time), so I am trying to motivate myself to get back into it. Unfortunately, I have a hard time motivating myself because my office is nothing but chaos because I haven’t unpacked a single box (slowly hides head in shame). Although, after this project I am about to share with all of you this has definitely motivated me.
Since I was seeking motivation for motivation, I went to my favorite place to find it, Pinterest! I went on a pinning spree to find ideas which you can view here: http://pinterest.com/CleverPirate/gettin-scrappy/
I then went on a mini shopping spree at Walmart to check out the section for memory keeping items. I like that they have a section for this including a whole section of scrapbooking items under $1. I checked out the selection of adhesives and was surprised to find this:
Adhesive Spot Stamper
This takes the glue spots that I am obsessed with except, there is no peeling and sticking. I found this was easy to use and made scrapbooking easy and much faster! I was hesitant by the price but comparing to buying glue spots on their own, I decided it was a good deal. It worked pretty awesome, the only problem was as with every adhesive runner I have, the roll broke. I did manage to open it up (with a little force) and maneuvered it to work again. Yay!
So here it is, my first memory keeping layout in a long time!
Scrapbook Layout:
A Mother’s Love
Supplies:
- Elmer’s Scrapbook Adhesive Stamper
- Elmer’s Glitter Pens
- X-ACTO Knife
- X-ACTO Mat
- Misc Scrapbook Paper and Cardstock
- Paper Punches
- Embroidery Floss
- Stickers
Directions:
- I chose 1 photo to use as the focus.
- I tore the 2 pieces of cardstock to add some texture to the layout.
- I used my X-ACTO Knife and mat because I couldn’t find my trimmer but found it easy to use to trim my paper because I lined it up on the grid.
- I used the Elmer’s scrapbook adhesive stamper to tack on the adhesive on the back of the papers to adhere them to the main piece of cardstock.
- I punched out the heart and 2 circles to use as embellishments.
- For the heart, I took a thread and the light blue embroidery floss and sewed around the heart.
- I pieced it together then did some swirls at the bottom with the glitter glue for texture and dimension.
I hope you like it! It took less than an hour but probably would be quicker if it hadn’t been years since I did this.

Seriously love that pic of you and the little pirate. And the layout turned out beautifully – the heart is way cool.
