This weekend I made an Apple Butter recipe in the slow cooker, it was easy and delicious and very simple to make!
Recipe: Apple Butter
Ingredients:
- 2-3/4 pounds apples – peeled, cored and finely chopped
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon or apple pie spice
- 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
Place apples in a slow cooker and pour sugar, cinnamon, cloves and salt over apples and mix well. Cover and cook on high for 1 hour.
Reduce heat to low; cover and let cook overnight for 9-11 hours or until thick and dark brown,
To smooth, stir with a wire whisk or pour in food processor. This makes enough for 2 smaller mason jars. Freeze or refrigerate.
My essentials for cooking with apples:
Apple Peeler
Apple Slicer and Corer
Kitchen Scale with bowl

Sounds delish and I happen to have enough apples on hand! Do you prefer a specific kind of apples and do you use it like jam?
Sara @ Super Saving Sense says
Heather, I actually mixed a few different kinds. I used 6 gala, 3 Granny Smith and 3 Honey Crisp Apples!
You can use it on toast, as a jam, heat it up and pour it on ice cream!
