Recently I was asked to do a shop for Old Orchard frozen juice. I’ll be honest, I haven’t shopped for juice in the frozen section in a long time. My deterrents? Mainly the fact that they have metal and my previous experience is that they didn’t really taste the same as non frozen juices. The reason I didn’t care for metal is I had to defrost it either in the fridge or on the counter hours before. If I want to serve juice in the morning and we are in a hurry, unless I had planned on setting the juice out prior we couldn’t have it. Also, I had noticed a metal taste in the juices when tried frozen juices previously.
When I went shopping for the Old Orchard juice, I was pleased to see there was no metal. This means I could easily place it in the microwave for under 30 seconds and it would be thawed. The juice was also easy to open, almost too easy! Also since it was so easy to open there was no splash so there was no mess!
Another surprise, the juice tasted great! I couldn’t tell that it was a frozen juice to start with when I was enjoying it as is or in my smoothie. Old Orchard Juice is 100% juice, has no added sugars and is a healthy beverage both me and my kids can enjoy. I made a smoothie last night with the cranberry juice and some berries.
Starting at $1.12 a can at my Walmart, this is actually a great price to stock up on at home. Compared to the cost of containers of juice, it is nearly half the cost and that is something this frugal mom can enjoy!
