The theme this week on the blog has been all about blogging. I shared tips on how to make sure your photos are formatted for Pinterest and search engines and I shared some of the tools I use to keep track of everything I do for blogging. Today, I am sharing about a book on blogging called Everything But The Posts.
This book is written by my very good friend Becca over at My Crazy Good Life and I took some time this weekend to read through it. She shares some very valuable tips for those wanting to start a blog. If I had read this book before I started blogging, I could have saved myself countless hours. The information she shares in this book is amazing and right to the point. I didn’t feel like it was overwhelming and when it was done, I wrote to her and asked when the next book was coming out so I could take my blog to the next level! Along with information she shares quick tips that you can do right now to help your blog.
Some of the information she shares is how to:
- Design your blog to attract readers
- Choose the right blog name and avoid rebranding down the road
- Create a community of bloggers through comments, linkups, and social media
- Write content that goes viral
- Reach out to brands you’d like to work with
- Set fair rates for your work
- Tips for giveaways and reviews
- Attend conferences through brand sponsorships
- Create a media kit
If you have been blogging for a while, this book is still for you. She goes over her tips on writing viral content, creating media kits and how to attend conferences through brand sponsorships. Who wouldn’t value from all of that information!
Again, what is amazing about this book is that she shares valuable information. Information that it takes some bloggers a very long time to figure out. Best part? It’s all in one place and it’s not terribly long with jargon that some may not understand.
Psssst, she has a preview of one of her chapters on her blog here: http://mycrazygoodlife.com/everything-but-the-posts-sample-chapter-and-blogger-referral-networks/
You can purchase her book here: http://everythingbuttheposts.com/ and it is available in paperback for $12.99 and the electronic versions are only $7.99.

I want to win because I want to try and begin blogging. My husband had a permanent back injury and the company I worked for, just closed. So…needless to say, we’re having a hard time financially. I want to try to blog to make additional money to help us through this time. Thank you.
