Looking for an easy project for your kids to do? Sidewalk Chalk is a staple of every childhood’s summer. You can buy the large pieces at the store OR make your own DIY Sidewalk Chalk with just a couple supplies! The key to making your own sidewalk chalk is Plaster of Paris. You can buy a box or package that will last you a very long time for a variety of crafts. My favorite thing up to this point has been making chalk paint with it but now that we have made sidewalk chalk with it, it may be my new favorite thing!
One thing to know about Plaster of Paris is that it hardens so you don’t want to use regular cups or spoons where you would have any going down into your sink’s pipes. I highly recommend using paper products for this project!
- Silicone molds
- Plaster of Paris powder mix
- Food coloring
- Paper cups
