It’s time for Spring cleaning, purging and organizing time and I’ve been bit by the bug. Normally, I’m not an organized person at all really. I need motivations such as Pinterest and handy dandy tools like the Dymo Label Maker.

I hit up my dry goods pantry with this fab tool and actually organized the terror cabinet  to something more accessible!

On Tuesday, February 12th from 8-9pm MST (7-8pm PST, 10-11pm EST), I’ll be pinning live on Pinterest with a few of my creative blogging friends! Since the theme is all about getting organized and keeping the house in order, we’ll be pinning with the tag #HomeOrganization. So, you’ll leave the party with some great organizational ideas, PLUS, you have the chance to win a $50 gift card to the Container Store! Perfect for putting some of those organizing ideas to good use!
To participate, follow the board, “http://pinterest.com/allison_waken/home-organization/“. That board will be empty until the party starts! In the meantime, you can start pinning to your own boards with the #organizedliving tag (we’ll be searching for good things to repin). Then, once the party starts, follow the Organized Living board and just repin/comment on our pins during the party for to increase your chances of winning! Fun for all! :)
We’ll be tracking entries (and randomly choosing a winner) through the Rafflecopter form below, so make sure you get entered there if you’d like a chance at the gift card!

Here are all the fabulous bloggers that will be partying with us! :) Go check them all & say hi! And, hopefully we’ll “see” you on Pinterest on Tuesday night! :)

hang your post earrings on this organizer

I’ve shared a few of my jewelry organizers with you on the blog. Such as my Frame turned Earring Holder and more recently my Corkboard Necklace Holder. I discovered that I needed to make an addition to my jewelry organizers for my post earrings. I got out the corkboard and burlap and came up with this DIY Earring Organizer!

Supplies you’ll need:

  • Corkboard (you don’t need a lot, I used a 5X5 square)
  • Burlap
  • Jute Twine
  • Hot Glue Gun
  • Scissors
  • Crop-A-Dile (If you don’t have it, get it, you’ll love it. Find it on Amazon.com)

How To:

Take the corkboard and measure out the length of burlap you will need. This should be about 1 inch longer than each side.

Cut the burlap and place the corkboard on top in the middle creating an even look.

Take the hot glue gun and start gluing each side down one time at a time. When onto the last one, be sure to pull taught.

Once the glue is dried, take the Crop-A-Dile and punch holes in the top so that the jute/twine can hold the earring holder.

Thread the Jute through and tie knots on the back ends.

This is upcycled from an old bulletin board to make a Necklace Holder

I’m in organization mode and I hit up my closet this weekend. I did another clothing big purge and more in depth organization. I’m ashamed to admit but not really, I love jewelry! But, it gets all over. I needed something for my necklaces that wasn’t going to be time consuming or cost a lot. I lucked out when I got this old bulletin board with cork board at a thrift store. It was in great condition and less than $5! I was able to upcycle it and create this necklace holder.

I took some nails and lined them across and down the board and then added my necklaces. That’s it! Probably one of the simplest tutorials I will share with you on Clever Pink Pirate!
