Have you seen the new 3D polishes by Sally Hansen? The Fuzzy Coat is a polish that gives your nails a fabric/textile look. It almost looks like yarn! The Sugar Coat Polish looks like the nails are dipped in sugar. It has a matte look but definitely has a fun textured look. These polishes are a perfect way to transition into Summer! They come in a variety of colors and of course, I always love stocking up on Sally Hansen goodies!

Once I learned about these polishes, I had to head to Walgreens to find them. I might have been a little too eager, the first Walgreens I went to hadn’t received their shipment yet. But that is okay I went to a Walgreens down the street and found the display. I definitely had to take advantage of the awesome sales that were happening. Right now through June 29th you can receive BOGO 50% off on Insta Dri, Fuzzy Coat and Sugar Coat polishes. The nail art pens are also BOGO 50% off so if you have been wanting to stock up, now is the chance! Bonus, get 500 balance reward points when you buy 2 participating products. This was great because it brought my points up and I was able to save even more when I checked out! The cashier had asked me if I wanted to use my savings now and I said “you bet”!

First up was the Wool Lite Fuzzy Coat Sally Hansen Polish. I paired it with the Fuchsia Power Xtreme polish. I found it was important to use a base coat with the fuzzy coat. The reason being is it comes out kind of like a clear top coat. This polish is cool because you could set your “texture”.

If you are like me and like a subtle sprinkle look, just put on one coat over your base coat. If you love a really textured look, put on additional coats.

My next manicure I couldn’t wait to do. When I went shopping at Walgreens, I was there for about 30 minutes just in the beauty section. I probably looked peculiar as I was grabbing polishes and repeatedly saying “oohhhh”. When I saw the Whoopsy Daisy Salon Effects, I knew what I wanted to do. I wanted to combine it with the new Sugar Coat Sour Apple polish. I knew that this would make a perfect look for the Summer time.  I wanted to use the Sugar Coat Polish as an accent nail and and I paired it with the Salon Effects. I am in love with floral prints which I think matched perfect with the sugar coat polish. What do you think?

Of course the great thing about Sally Hansen’s innovative products is it makes my life a lot easier! The Salon Effects are nail polish strips that are already designed with trendy art. I am not artistic enough to do this kind of detail nor do I have the time. I probably have about 10 different designs! Pairing that with the eye catching textured polish allows me to have a fun and trendy manicure that I can do at home.

I really fell in love with the Sour Apple Sugar Coat polish. It’s a pretty mint color that is perfect for the Summer months. I don’t know if it is the cool 3D effect or my love of textures, maybe both but the polish itself is pretty cool. On my right hand, you can see that I used the Salon Effects as an accent and the Sugar Coat polish as the main part of the manicure. Here are my tips for using Sally Hansen Sugar Coat:

  • Start with a clean nail
  • Apply 1 thin coat, let dry
  • Apply 2nd thin coat, let dry
  • Wait. This is important because at first, it doesnt’t look like it’s doing much but as it dries, you see the texture.
  • No need for a top coat, this polish is actually sturdy enough to stand on it’s own. In fact, when I put a top coat on it kind of muted the 3 D effect.

With the BOGO deal at Walgreens, I was able to purchase the Fuzzy Coat and Sugar coat for a total of $10.50! Of course I had to get some new Insta Dri polishes. These two colors just came out and are perfect for the Summer time. I love the green one as it’s an emerald color which of course is the color of the year!

To remove the textrued polishes, you’ll want to do the foil method. Soak cotton balls in the polish remover, then take strips of foil and “bind” the soaked cotton balls onto your fingers by wrapping the foil around them and your finger nails. Leave them for about 10 minutes, then start wiping off.

Summer is here and it’s time to whip out those warmer weather beauty products! Here is a peek of my favorite beauty items for Summer from drug stores and Amazon for less than $15!

  1. Suave Keratin Shampoo and Conditioner ~ Walmart $2.88 each ~ I’ve heard so much about Keratin that I wanted to give it a try but the hair care products can be pricey! I have had a good run with Suave professionals so I thought I would try these. I can say after years of trying to find shampoos and conditioners that would soften my long hair without weighing it down, I finally found a reasonably priced product!
  2. Sally Hansen Airbrush Leg Light Glow ~ Between $11 and $13 at Walgreens and Walmart ~ I’ve seen a lot of mixed reviews of this Sally Hansen leg “makeup” online. I bought it a month ago and love it! I think the problem that many have is not knowing how to use it.l You do not spray it on to your legs directly. You spray it into your hands, then rub your hands together then swiftly mix it into your legs like lotion. Once your legs are covered, take a damp washcloth and blend any lines in and finish the look by going over your legs with a dry towel to finish the  blending. Works like a charm and gives your legs a nice glow (especially great for those with very bright white legs like myself).
  3. Venus Embrace Razor ~ $8.97 at Walmart ~ Not the most inexpensive razor out there but the most effective with a smooth finish and minimal razor burns, great for sensitive skin!
  4. Dove Ultimate Visibly Smooth Anti-Perspirant Deodorant ~ $3.79 at Walgreens ~ Shave less throughout the Summer time with this deodorant!
  5. EOS Lip Balm ~ $3.29 at Walgreens ~ I love soft lips and EOS does a great job of keeping my Summer lips hydrated.
  6. Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips, Sunset Strip/Bronzer ~ $11.69 at Amazon.com ~ I don’t always want to put on a foundation during the hotter months but love that I can get a shimmer with this bronzer!
  7. MR. PUMICE Pumi BAR 4pcs   ~ $4.95 at Amazon.com ~ I’ve used these little scrubbers for a couple years now and for the price, I love them! They keep my feet smooth in between pedicures.
  8. Gold Bond Healing Lotion ~ $7.29 at Walgreens ~ This foot lotion is great after a good scrub and before bed time. It keeps callouses from forming and feet soft!
  9. Textured Nail Polishes~$6.49 at Target for Sally Hansen Sugar Coat ~ Textured polishes are the new thing this Summer and I love this line from Sally Hansen!

If you follow beauty boards on Pinterest, you’ve probably seen this pink thing floating around in your pins.

At first I wasn’t intrigued but the more I saw it, I finally decided to click on it. I found it was a beauty sponge that you could buy online and the highlight of the product is that it blends your makeup in well, not leaving any streaks for a flawless finish. But what is the big deal about this pink thing and was it really worth it?

After I found out this was primarily sold online at a price that was a little steep for this bargainista ($19.99), I tried to find a “similar” product in stores. I went to Target and didn’t find anything but found the a blending sponge at Walgreens for only around $5. I also did a search on Amazon and found a variety of Beauty Blending Sponges on Amazon between $5 and $15.

Does it work? From far away, I couldn’t tell a difference. I did the left side of my face with a traditional sponge and the right side with the Beauty Blender Sponge from Walgreens. Up close though I could tell especially around my eye that it had evened out the foundation well.

I think for around $5, it’s worth the investment to have better coverage with foundation!

Have you tried one of these pink sponges? I’d love to know your thoughts!

Hi, this is a sponsored story! I’m glad you are here, take a read through and let me know what you think of the outfits I found! You can find my full disclosure at the bottom of this post.

Do you have a color hue that you have been wanting to add to your wardrobe but have been a little hesitant? That is how I have been with the coral/peachy spectrum sensation. Since my skin is so fair, I have been fearful to try such delicate yet bold colors. But then I look at the latest fashion trends on Pinterest and I have found myself pinning more and more of these colors, especially paired with white. Oh white, talk about another color I am scared to wear. Not because of the color itself but because I seem to always get something on my clothes.

In just a couple of weeks it will be Mother’s Day. The kids and I used to have a tradition where we would travel to Sedona, AZ for the weekend. We haven’t done that in a few years and I miss it so much, I have been planning a trip back this year.  I decided to spoil myself for an early Mother’s day present and buy some new clothes for Mother’s Day weekend. I went shopping at Sears and found myself falling in love with these colors in person. There were so many bright orange hue colors that I just loved. Plus Sears has affordable fashions, perfect for this mom’s budget!

My first find was a sheer top in a bright coral color for only $10.99! I wasn’t sure how I would feel about the high low top but I actually love it, especially since it will cover the top of the white skinny jeans! Yes, I bought a pair of white skinny jeans. The deal was too good, only $12.99! Plus they fit perfectly in my opinion!

My next find was this maxi dress. A little background on my love/hate relationship with maxi dresses. I love them, I think they look gorgeous on women. My problem is that typically they are a knit material and they “gather” in the middle of my body which is not an area I want to draw attention to. I was happy to find this belted maxi that was 55% off and was not a knit! This dress was only $21.99!

I also treated myself to a necklace/earring combo set from Sears that would pair perfectly with both outfits.I absolutely love the spectrum of blue/turquoise! All in all I spent only around $51 for 2 complete outfits and the accessories thanks to the fabulous sales at Sears and the Shop Your Way Rewards program. It’s a program that gives you a certain percentage of your purchases back to use on a future purchase! I love when there are bonus points on certain items too!

Of course there are some other things I have been eyeballing like new cowboy boots. Check out these boots from Sears! While real deal cowboy boots are out of my budget for now but maybe someone will get me a pair for Mother’s Day *hint hint*.

I actually found a cute pair of heeled boots for $29.99!

Here’s a clever tip: Never shop looking at the hanger for sizes. I should know better, I really should. I had to go back and exchange my shirt because it was 2 sizes off!  Remember to examine the clothes, even better take a minute or two to try them on and save yourself all kinds of trouble.

You can shop at Sears and keep up with their latest promotions and styles here:

Here is one of our first sessions, say hello to Anne from NotASuperMom.com!

If you have been blogging for a little bit, you’ve heard a little bit about blogging conferences. I’ve been to a few, in fact I just went to my 10th conference. Crazy, right? I just went to BBC Phoenix and in fact, it was my 4th Bloggy Bootcamp. I go to one every year and I will continue to do so because the return on my investment is always well worth it. Some people ask me why I attend this conference so many times and they want to know, is it repetitive? When I go to Bloggy Bootcamp I have the mindset that I will come home with these 3 things:

  • Motivation ~ I always feel the need to turn my blog into something more fabulous than it was before.
  • Something New ~ While I may hear things I already know, I ALWAYS come home with some valuable.
  • New Friends ~ I always make new bloggy friends at BBC and it’s great because there are not an overwhelming amount of people I go home meeting at least half of the attendees!

Another reason I go? The SITS girls are pretty awesome and know how to put on a greatly informative conference. Tiffany is just awesome. She is SO pretty and SO funny! She really just makes these conferences awesome and she is the real deal.

If you are looking for the “meat and potatoes” of blogging conferences, the Bloggy Bootcamps are worth the investments. The bonus is that usually they are priced low and capped around 100 to make everyone’s experience more intimate.

Just a few things I took from this blogging conference:

I need to put more attention into Google +. I’ve been hearing how important it is but it didn’t click until it was pointed out that Google + is a Gogle product and Google is the master of the web. Duh! I should have my info totally branded on there to make me and my website more searchable and favored by Google! One of the first things I did was complete my Google Aurthorship. You can do it for your site too here: https://plus.google.com/authorship

I learned more how to manage my sponsored posts, something I needed!

SEO seems to be constantly evolving, I’m appreciate of Casey from cbias who shared his knowledge on how to use it to our advantage!

Also, we heard about how to plug into the Speaker portions of the blogging conference circuit. When I saw this I thought, this is not something I would need but, on the way home I had an epiphany of something to talk about! Hopefully I can execute a plan and maybe speak at a conference soon!

Of course I had a blast, especially with my fav local bloggy peeps

Thank you to DownEast Basics for sponsoring our clothing for the conference! Don’t we all look fabulous?!

I love this Pink Sheer Shirt, it was definitely branding for myself at the conference.

I loved everything the girls chose from DownEast! I honestly had outfit envy!

Awkward Stretching anyone?

A bit shoutout to those who came and saw Kim & I at the Collective Bias booth and did some awkward stretching! You guys are talented!

If I didn’t get a chance to talk to you about Social Fabric/Cbias, feel free to email me!

I know Danielle says stop apologizing and that has stayed with me since I heard her say it BBCVegas. Because I do apologize for a lot, a lot that is completely out of my control so I have gotten better. I do want to apologize for scaring anyone with my “sick voice” . I normally don’t sound like that I swear! That was the worst part of the conference, coming home from BBC early because I was sick :(

Disclosure: I did receive giftcards from DownEast Basics to purchase clothing for the conference. All opinions expressed in this post are my own.
