Brave the movie opened up this weekend and Tyler and I had a chance to see it in 3D. We have been looking forward to this movie for a long time because we love Disney Pixar movies in this house!
Brave is about a young princess named, Mireda. Mireda reaches the age of betrothal and her mother, Queen Elinor, arranges for a meeting of possible suitors for Mireda to marry. Mireda, wanting nothing to do with marriage tries to explain to her mother that she isn’t ready to be married. After failed attempts at trying to relay this message to her mother, Mireda tries everything in her power to make her mother understand including seeing a witch. Once the witch gives her a spell that goes horribly wrong, Mireda and her mother must work together to reverse the spell before it’s too late.
We both really enjoyed this movie. This movie had a strong message on the importance of communication between parent and child. It made me think of the relationship with my own daughter because any mom of a tween/teen girl knows that sometimes it is impossible to communicate.I wish she would have seen it with me but we will definitely be watching it again.
Tyler’s favorite part?
Any part that involved the triplets. I think its because he is a mischievous guy himself.
We stayed after the movie to participate in a contest that AMC theaters has. When you find the little princes in the lobby, you get a Brave sticker. Tyler and I had a lot of fun doing this little game.
A little bit about the movie from the creators of Brave:
“Brave” follows the heroic journey of Merida, a skilled archer and headstrong daughter of King Fergus (voice of Billy Connolly) and Queen Elinor (voice of Emma Thompson). Determined to carve her own path in life, Merida defies an age-old custom sacred to the unruly and uproarious lords of the land: massive Lord MacGuffin (voice of Kevin McKidd), surly Lord Macintosh (voice of Craig Ferguson) and cantankerous Lord Dingwall (voice of Robbie Coltrane). Merida’s actions inadvertently unleash chaos and fury in the kingdom, and when she turns to an eccentric Witch (voice of Julie Walters) for help, she is granted an ill-fated wish. The ensuing peril forces Merida to harness all of her skills and resources – including her clever and mischievous triplet brothers – to undo a beastly curse before it’s too late, discovering the meaning of true bravery.
Directed by Mark Andrews and Brenda Chapman, and produced by Katherine Sarafian, “Brave” is a grand adventure full of heart, memorable characters and signature Pixar humor that audiences of all ages around the world have come to eagerly expect. The film takes aim at theaters on June 22, 2012, and will be presented in Disney Digital 3D™ in select theaters.
