This is a sponsored post, all opinions are my own.
The time has come, we’ve got to get braces for the Clever Teen. Not being harsh but she really needs them and after speaking with an orthodontist, we know it’s not good to wait. I actually feel bad that we’ve waited this long but I needed to wait until we were financially ready. Teeth Straightening as you may know are pretty invasive (and expensive). After doing some research we decided to go with Invisalign for many reasons but I want to make sure that was the right decision. We’ve spoken with an orthodontist about them and he had said sometimes Invisialign involves braces in the beginning and sometimes it’s not possible. So before we decided on a full treatment plan, I want to get a second opinion.
Typically orthodontic consultations are free which is great. Even the orthodontist we spoke to encouraged us to do research and speak with another doctor because of how important of a decision it is. My mom recommended the orthodontist she used so we’ll be speaking with him. I’m a firm believer in getting referrals from family and friends.
Did you know less than a quarter** of U.S. adults say they would get a second opinion for teeth straightening procedures? Crazy, I mean first, teeth straightening is expensive but not only that, it is a pretty hefty procedure sometimes. For me, I don’t like to assume the first person I talk to is always giving it to me straight (call me a skeptic, I’m just guarded). I may have been taken advantage of a time or two so now we always talk to a second opinion. Just a month ago the Clever Co Parent talked to a shop about his transmission slipping, they said it would be $500 just to look at it because it looked to be something serious. What? He spoke with someone else, the guy literally told him it sounds like “xyz”, he put $20 bucks into fixing it and bam. Done.
So as crazy as these next few months will be for me, I’m going to be scheduling appointments for Clever Teen’s teeth straightening adventures very soon.
