I finished my Summer mantel decorating a few weeks ago but haven’t had time to post it. I wanted to keep it simple. As you can see from my mantel before
I didn’t have much going on. I’ve actually never really decorated mantels, our fire place is a faux fire place and we have only had it since Christmas.
So I brainstormed a few Summer mantel decorating ideas and of course, got out the spray paint.
I added a few warm Summer colors and came up with this simple Summer mantel:
The printable in the frame is from the Simple Crafter, which you can find here: http://www.simplecrafter.com/free-printable-summer-subway-art/
The frame was actually a white frame, I spray painted it with Krylon Ocean Breeze (my newest favorite color)
The pinwheel is from the dollar section at Target (which I love).
The candle stick holder is a wooden one, spray painted in a bright yellow.
The wooden bowl on the left corner was actually this:
I found it at a thrift store for about $2, I sanded it and spray painted it. I then added a vinyl skeleton key from a silhouette and sprayed it in acrylic. BTW, not sure if I would do again as the edges curled up a bit when it dried.
